A passenger aboard a Delta Air Lines flight recorded travelers being removed from the plane on stretchers following intense turbulence en route to Atlanta.
This video was shot after the aircraft, originating from Milan on a Tuesday, ran into an aggressive turbulence zone roughly 40 miles northeast of the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, as indicated by various sources.
"My flight #delta175 hit severe turbulence and dropped, and folks including myself went flying up out their seats," stated Ayo Suber, the passenger who took the video, on her Instagram. "One woman hit the overhead bin and cracked it. There were several injuries including most of the flight attendants."
She further commented, "We made an emergency landing and the non-seriously injured had to stay on the plane until a new flight crew came in because you can't debark without one."
The footage seemingly displays a damaged overhead bin, with a passenger pressing an ice bag against her forehead.
Subsequently, two additional travelers are shown being escorted off the aircraft, each on a stretcher.
"Delta Care Team members are mobilizing to connect with customers," commented Delta Air Lines in an official statement following the aircraft's landing.
Further, the airline emphasized, "Our priority is taking care of our customers and crew who sustained injuries."
Onboard were 151 passengers, accompanied by 10 cabin crew members and a team of four pilots.
Post-landing, around 11 people, which included members of the crew, were taken to medical facilities for care.
The Airbus A350, designated as Flight 175, successfully touched down close to 7:00 p.m.
