On Friday President Trump sided with protesters in Michigan with their opposition to Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer's strict stay-at-home order, suggesting she "give a little."
“The Governor of Michigan should give a little, and put out the fire. These are very good people, but they are angry. They want their lives back again, safely! See them, talk to them, make a deal,” President Trump tweeted.

People in Michigan have been demonstrating against Governor Whitmer for weeks. They claim the rules she has in place are too restrictive. On Thursday some of the demonstrators showed up at the state capitol armed.

The tweet from President Trump comes just a day after the GOP-controlled state legislature refused to extend the governor's stay-at-home-order for another 28 days. Whitmer used an executive order to extend it on Thursday night.
Businesses planned on starting to reopen in mid-May.
