Zul Mirza Mohamed may be a name that you aren't familiar with unless you live in Texas, and it's likely going to stay that way after you finish this article.
Mohamed was arrested for voter fraud after being caught forging approximately 100 absentee ballots.
The local sheriff's office caught him in possession of several official mail ballots and he's now being charged with 109 felonies...yes you read that right.
At first, it was made to look like the ballots were sent to a nursing home but they were sent to his residence. The investigators were suspicious of Mohamed when there were reports that absentee ballots were sent to the same place.
It looks like he is trying to win the election in a dirty way. Of course, this incident is not only going to ruin his chances at ever running for office again, but he'll likely spend his life in prison.
The Metrocrest Democrats held a meeting featuring mayoral candidates in March 2020 where Mohamed made an appearance. On the application to be a candidate for mayor, which Mohamed signed, it states, “I will not undertake or condone any dishonest or unethical practice that tends to corrupt or undermine our system of free elections or that hampers or prevents the full or free expression of the will of the voters …”
In 2018, as a candidate for the Carrollton City Council, Mohamed was interviewed by the Dallas Morning News. Asked if he had “ever been arrested on any misdemeanor or felony charge or otherwise involved in any criminal proceedings,” Mohamed answered, “Misdemeanor, it was a long time ago.”
The sad part is even if he had got away with forging the ballots, it was still not a sure thing that he would win the election.
Thankfully, this guy is gone because he was definitely anti-gun and wanted to eliminate open carry and enforce stricter gun laws.
