Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News host who was removed from his position, appeared to be in high spirits when he was approached by journalists on Tuesday night in Florida.

The Daily Mail's report indicates that despite the ongoing speculation about his sudden departure and his future plans, Tucker Carlson seemed unfazed when approached by journalists. Despite his prime-time show's consistent domination of cable news ratings, his exit continued to make headlines.

During the encounter with reporters on Tuesday, Tucker Carlson only revealed plans for his upcoming dinner, which he mentioned would consist of appetizers and an entree. He also mentioned that this dinner with his wife Susan marked the first weeknight date they had since he began his successful show at Fox, more than three decades ago.

“I haven’t eaten dinner with my wife on a weeknight in seven years,” Carlson said while smiling. “Retirement is going great so far!”

The sudden announcement of Tucker Carlson's departure from Fox News on Monday came as a surprise to everyone, including the host himself. In fact, on Friday's episode of "Tucker Carlson Tonight," he had signed off with the assurance that he would return on Monday. This made the news of his departure all the more unexpected.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch had actually made the decision to dismiss Tucker Carlson as early as Friday evening. However, Carlson was not informed of the decision until just 10 minutes before the news was made public on Monday.

On Monday, "Fox News Tonight" was broadcast live, hosted by regular "Fox & Friends" anchor Brian Kilmeade. However, there have been no reports yet regarding what will fill the 8 p.m. EST time slot in the future.
