LaVar Ball downplayed the role President Trump played in getting his son LiAngelo and two others players back to the states. Now President Trump fires back.

On Friday Arash Markazi of ESPN asked LaVar Ball about President Trump's involvement in the issue. LaVar Ball responded, "Who? "What was he over there for? Don't tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out."

When President Trump caught wind of this he took to Twitter to let his feelings on the matter be known.

More on the story, per ESPN:

UCLA freshmen LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, who had been detained in China on suspicion of shoplifting, landed in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening and addressed the media on Wednesday before being indefinitely suspended by the team.

Trump, who returned late Tuesday from a trip through Asia, raised the players' case with President Xi Jinping of China during a visit to Beijing last week. All three players thanked Trump during Wednesday's news conference after Trump tweeted that the players should thank him for stepping in and helping gain their release.

The players were arrested and questioned on Nov. 7 about stealing from high-end stores, including sunglasses from a Louis Vuitton store next to the team's hotel in Hangzhou, where the Bruins had been staying before leaving for Shanghai to face Georgia Tech.

Can you imagine being in LaVar Ball's place and showing zero gratitude to President Trump? His son was on the brink of a ten-year prison stint in China when Trump stepped in and made sure it didn't happen. And what thank does Trump get? He gets LaVar Ball downplaying the role Trump had in it. Even his son had the decency to thank Trump for helping him when he was in a bad situation.
