Hip Hop Mogul Reaches Agreement to Purchase Conservative Social Media Platform

Hip hop mogul Ye, more commonly known as Kanye West, has reached an agreement to purchase the conservative social media platform Parler.

Over the last few weeks, West has been embroiled in controversy. He was suspended from Twitter and Instagram after making anti-Semitic statements. According to West, this platform will allow for a more free exchange of ideas.

“In a world where conservative opinions are considered to be controversial we have to make sure we have the right to freely express ourselves,” West said in a joint statement with Parler.

George Farmer, CEO of Parler parent company Parlement Technologies and husband of The Daily Wire’s Candace Owens, spoke highly of West's investment, claiming it will "change the world, and change the way the world thinks about free speech.”

“Ye is making a groundbreaking move into the free speech media space and will never have to fear being removed from social media again,” Farmer said in a statement. “Once again, Ye proves that he is one step ahead of the legacy media narrative. Parlement will be honored to help him achieve his goals.”

After the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, big tech companies turned their back on Parler. Both Apple and Google took their app out of their app stores. The two have since made the apps available again.
