'You Don't Get to Say That!' Eric Swalwell Explodes When GOP Rep Mentions His Alleged Affair with 'Yum Yum'

Eric Swalwell, a California Democrat, responded unfavorably to remarks made by Troy Nehls, a Republican from Texas, during a Congressional hearing on Wednesday regarding allegations of Swalwell's association with a Chinese spy.

Swalwell and Nehls took part in a hearing concerning the mistreatment of unaccompanied migrant children, which was conducted by the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration Integrity, Security, and Enforcement.

“Ms. Rodriguez, I apologize that you had to — you’re here for a hearing on the border, they don’t want to talk about a border. Mr. Swalwell is down there, obviously everybody knows he’s made some comments, he’s got a checkered past,” Nehls said before being interrupted by Swalwell.

“I’m sorry — I have a checkered past?” Swalwell interjected.

“It’s my time,” Nehls replied. “Alleged affairs, relationships with Yum Yum,” he wisecracked.

Swalwell once again interrupted “you don’t get to say that shit. That’s not true,” Swalwell said.

“He had an alleged relationship with Yum Yum, now he’s angry,” Nehls continued, unphased.

Nehls was alluding to the purported connection between Swalwell and Christine Fang, who is suspected of being a Chinese spy and goes by the name Fang Fang. According to an investigation by Axios in December 2020, she apparently established links with Swalwell and other politicians in California from 2011 to 2015.
