Former acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe stated that he believes "it's possible" that President Trump is a secret Russian agent.
While doing an interview with Anderson Cooper on CNN, McCabe was asked, "Do you still believe the President could be a Russian asset?"
"I think it's possible," McCabe responded. "I think that's why we started our investigation, and I'm really anxious to see where (special counsel Robert) Mueller concludes that."
McCabe has done the same thing he has done for most of the tour he is doing to promote his book: blast President Trump. Of course Anderson Cooper and CNN were very happy to give him a platform to do that.
More from Daily Mail:
'This President is undermining the role of law enforcement, undermining the role of our intelligence infrastructure and negatively impacting the men and women of the FBI, and across the intelligence agencies, (and their) ability to protect this country on a daily basis,' McCabe said.
McCabe was fired last year by then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who cited his 'lack of candor' during an internal investigation into media leaks about the FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton'semails.
Earlier on Tuesday, McCabe said that federal law enforcement thought it was possible Donald Trump was working on behalf of Russia when the Bureau opened its counterintelligence investigation into him in 2016.
'We had information that led us to believe that there might be a threat to national security – in this case that the president himself might, in fact, be a threat to the United States national security,' he said in a 'Today' show interview.
As his explosive memoir went on sale, McCabe declared that 'we thought it might be possible' that Trump was directly working on behalf of Russia during the early days of his administration.
Question: "Do you believe that this president has more credibility than Andrew McCabe?"
Kellyanne Conway: "Yes, of course, it's not even close."

The witch hunt continues. When the Senate Judiciary Committee admitted that they had nothing it seemed like it might finally be over. Then McCabe turns the heat back up in order to get more attention on him and his book.
President Trump made mention of the incident on Twitter Wednesday morning.

It is very likely this isn't the last mention President Trump makes of McCabe on Twitter. Stay tuned for more details.
James Woods took to Twitter to make an excellent point with regards to the situation:
So the guy in charge of the most powerful nation in the history of the world (who is also a billionaire) is going to betray that nation and work for some other guy instead? #GoodThinking https://t.co/BsaWPu0bCp
