An Australian individual prevented a kangaroo from submerging his dog in a remote river, as seen in a video shared on TikTok last Sunday.
The footage, now deleted from the platform, was uploaded by the user @milduramartialarts1 and depicted the terrified dog with its head just above the water before the man intervened, as reported by the Daily Mail. "Martial arts are for everyone, even kangaroos," stated the original caption.

“I’m going to punch your f***ing head in,” the dog owner says before taking on the muscle-bound kangaroo. “Let me dog go.”
The kangaroo makes a move towards the man, who was recording the incident, showcasing its claws which results in the phone being knocked out of his hand, blanking out the video. Sounds of a scuffle between the man and the kangaroo are then audible.
The man, having seemingly rescued his dog, retrieves his phone and captures the latter part of the confrontation. The kangaroo remains stationary in the river, watching the amused man and his dog as they head back to the bank.
While kangaroos are generally peaceful animals as per the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, they can become aggressive if they view someone as a rival or a danger to themselves or their young. To prevent provoking a kangaroo, it's recommended not to approach it directly, loom over it, maintain eye contact, or gesture towards it, as suggested by the Mail.
