Ex-New York Yankees pitcher David Wells has often shared his opinions on numerous matters.
Last month, he revisited the Bronx for the team's 75th annual Old-Timers' Day. While at Yankee Stadium, Wells donned a Yankees jersey, but with Nike's signature swoosh logo obscured by a piece of tape.
"I hate Nike," he said. "They’re woke." Wells also suggested that if he were not retired from Major League Baseball, he would have cut the logo out of the jersey. He also took aim at Bud Light, which drew backlash and sparked a boycott this year as a result of a marketing campaign that featured transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
This week, the pitcher with two World Series titles under his belt joined Dan Dakich on Outkick's "Don't @ Me" show, where he stood by his remarks about Nike and Bud Light.

"It's my beliefs," Wells said to Dakich, addressing whether he faced any criticism after his comments.
"I don't believe in all these companies coming into sports and trying to create a woke atmosphere," Wells added.
Last month, when questioned about whether he'd consider drinking Bud Light again, Wells firmly replied, "Nope."
The U.S. beer giant is still grappling with the fallout, and according to Harry Schuhmacher, the publisher of Beer Business Daily, some loyal customers might never return. He shared this perspective with Fox News Digital in September.
Wells also expressed disagreements with former NFL player Colin Kaepernick.
While Wells mentioned he "doesn't take issue" with the beliefs of the ex-San Francisco 49ers quarterback, he did not concur with Kaepernick's method of addressing police brutality and social injustice.
