Taco Bell Brings Back a Classic Menu Item After 'Insane Amount of Love'

Embracing the holiday spirit of generosity, the renowned fast food chain Taco Bell has announced a limited-time return of a much-loved menu item.

The Double Decker Taco, a crowd favorite, is making a comeback for a brief period, officially returning to the menu on Tuesday, Dec. 5. This unique taco consists of a bean-filled soft tortilla enveloping a hard shell taco, which is loaded with beef, cheese, and lettuce. Additionally, there's the Double Decker Taco Supreme, which is further enhanced with the addition of tomatoes and sour cream.

Taylor Montgomery, the Chief Marketing Officer at Taco Bell, commented on the decision to reintroduce the item, stating, “The Double Decker Taco holds a deep space in the hearts of our Taco Bell Fans. The insane amount of love for this product from fans across our social platforms was impossible to ignore."

"The sentiment was particularly strong following last year’s spirited face-off with the Enchirito," Montgomery went on. "We listened to what our fans wanted from us and knew we couldn’t deny them the joy of the Double Decker Taco any longer."

In 2022, Taco Bell hosted a voting contest within their app, giving fans the choice between the Double Decker Taco and the Enchirito. The Enchirito emerged as the winner, yet there was a significant number of supporters for the Double Decker Taco who were left disheartened by its loss. Fortunately for them, the time has now arrived for the Double Decker Taco's much-anticipated return.
