It's natural to feel pride for your son even when it's probably not what you shouldn't, but in this instance, it was a very strange response from President Biden.
Biden was asked by Jake Tapper of CNN about potential chargers coming against the man he once described as the "smartest man" he knows.
“Well first of all, I’m proud of my son,” Biden began. “This is a kid who got, not a kid he’s a grown man, he got hooked on, like many families have had happen, hooked on drugs. He’s overcome that, he’s established a new life.”
The U.S. attorney in Delaware is the only person with the power to bring charges against Hunter. President Biden doesn't seem to be too worried about this happening.
“I’m confident that what he says and does are consistent with what happens,” Biden continued.
“I have great confidence in my son,” he added. “I love him, and he’s on the straight and narrow, and he has been for a couple years now, and I’m just so proud of him.”
