Earlier this week, Sally Yates, who served under the Obama administration as the Deputy Attorney General testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding Spygate and the administration's unjust investigation and sabotage of General Michael Flynn
Yates said that former FBI Director James Comey went rogue during the investigation, which she wasn't too pleased with.
She says that he left her out of the loop on much of the matter and had she been made aware of what was going on in full, she would not have signed off on anything.
The bombshell came as Senate Republicans undertake a probe into how the FBI came to investigate Flynn and others affiliated with the Trump 2016 presidential campaign and the Trump transition team in connection with a possible Russian plot to subvert the outcome of the 2016 presidential election.
Although Connecticut’s U.S. Attorney John Durham is already looking into the origins of the so-called “Russian collusion” investigation, Senate Republicans have launched their own investigation, determined to discover whether the Obama administration targeted Trump-aligned officials without evidence of potential wrongdoing.
In an exchange with Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham during a hearing on the FBI's "Crossfire Hurricane" investigation, Yates was asked whether she authorized the FBI's January 24, 2017, interview of Flynn.
"I didn't authorize that interview because I wasn't told about it in advance," Yates, who appeared remotely, told lawmakers.
Yates said that when she heard about the FBI's interview with Flynn, "I was upset that Director Comey didn't coordinate this with us and acted unilaterally." Graham, a Republican from South Carolina, asked whether Comey went "rogue" with sending agents to speak with Flynn, and Yates responded, "You could use that term, yes."
I'm confident that there are still going to be plenty more hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee, including testimonies from people like James Comey, Andrew McCabe, James Clapper, John Brennan, Susan Rice, and possible Joe Biden and Barack Obama as well because we know that they were involved.
