Kevin Hart has been confined to a wheelchair following injuries he sustained during a foot race against former NFL athlete, Stevan Ridley.
On Wednesday evening, Hart unveiled a video on social media, revealing him in a wheelchair, and provided context to the event.
"44 and sitting my ass down!!!!! I got to be the dumbest man alive!!!!! What the f--k am I doing???? I blew my s--t….I’m done. FML," is how Hart captioned his Instagram post.

In the footage, Hart elucidated, "I'm in a wheelchair. Why? Well, because I tried to jump out there and do some young stuff."
He continued, "This debate was based off who's faster. Those that know me know, I'm pretty fast." He then relayed, "Stevan said, 'Kevin, ain't no way you're gonna beat me.' Stevan is an ex-NFL running back [who] played for the New England Patriots. Very good guy."
When Hart, 44, and Ridley, 34, embarked on a 40-yard dash, the outcome led to Hart sustaining a torn abdomen and injuries to his hip abductors. Nevertheless, Hart feels that his age is primarily the reason behind his injuries.
"To all my men and women out there that are 40 years old and above. It's not a game, respect that age," Hart voiced. "Respect that age, or that age will make you respect it. I was just forced to respect it. This is just a public service announcement because I know people may see me out. And I don't want you to be alarmed, but I'm in a wheelchair."

After the race, Ridley offered Hart an apology, though not without a friendly tease.
"I saw [Tom Brady] do it at your age, so I figured you had the juice too big bro," Ridley shared in an Instagram story the subsequent day.
Ridley further added, "My bad," and then expressed, "Heal up and keep making us all laugh."
The specifics regarding the duration of Hart's time in the wheelchair and his recuperation process are yet to be disclosed.
