Bryson DeChambeau’s victory tour included a unique stop at Trump National Golf Club in New York. After winning his second U.S. Open on Sunday, he visited the club for a drink—a very special one.
DeChambeau was welcomed with a video message from former President Donald Trump. The message, shared by Trump’s attorney Alina Habba, featured Trump congratulating DeChambeau on his dramatic win at Pinehurst No. 2. Trump praised his "long ball and everything else."
Though Trump wasn't there in person, his son Eric Trump was. Eric helped DeChambeau fill the U.S. Open trophy with red wine, likely from a Trump bottle. "Now that's a full trophy, ladies and gentlemen," Eric exclaimed as DeChambeau took a long drink from the trophy.
Back in 2020, after his first U.S. Open win, DeChambeau famously celebrated with chocolate milk, noting he typically didn’t drink alcohol. But this time, he took hearty gulps of wine from the prestigious trophy, marking a shift in his celebratory habits.
DeChambeau has played golf with Donald Trump multiple times and has represented Trump Golf. He considers himself "very lucky" to have a relationship with the former President.
Trump also congratulated DeChambeau on Truth Social after the victory. "Congratulations to Bryson DeChambeau on his incredible WIN of the United States Open!" he wrote. Trump admired DeChambeau's "toughness and inner strength" paired with his "GREAT Golfing Talent."
Trump highlighted DeChambeau’s skill under pressure, especially his amazing sand save on the 18th hole, which secured his win.
