A CNN reporter experienced the challenging conditions in San Francisco first-hand, revealing the extent of the city's difficulties.

CNN correspondent Kyung Lah was in San Francisco to cover the widespread issue of street crime when she found out that her rental car had been broken into, despite the presence of security personnel assigned to watch the vehicle.

“Got robbed. Again,” she tweeted. “@jasonkCNN & I were at city hall in San Francisco to do an interview for @CNN. We had security to watch our rental car + crew car. Thieves did this in under 4 seconds. Security stopped the jerks from stealing other bags. But seriously- this is ridiculous.”

Pretty unbelievable they had security and they were still robbed and it happened in four seconds. That's insanely fast.

Kyung and the CNN crew traveled from Los Angeles to report on the growing voter dissatisfaction due to the escalating street crime in San Francisco. It appears that the residents' concerns are indeed well-founded.

She also tweeted a thank you to the San Francisco Police officers that helped her out that doubled as a warning about the crime in the area.
