On Thursday, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) director Rochelle Walensky scolded Americans who have not been vaccinated, and demanded that they do so at once. She also blamed those who are unvaccinated for the spread of the delta variant.
That is a bold accusation considering people who have been vaccinated against COVID-19 have still gotten stick with the virus.
While virtually speaking to the White House COVID-19 Response Team during Thursday briefing, Walensky said, “These numbers and what we are seeing across the country reveal two truths about the current state of the pandemic.” She then bragged about the “successes of our vaccination program over the last 8 months” and reported that numbers are “far lower” than January’s peaks.

“And yet on the other hand, we’re starting to see some new and concerning trends. Simply put, in areas of low vaccination coverage, cases and hospitalizations are up,” she continued, stating that the delta variant is spreading “rapidly.”
“Low vaccination rates in these counties coupled with high case rates and lax mitigation policies that do not protect those who are unvaccinated from the disease will certainly and sadly lead to more unnecessary suffering, hospitalizations, and potentially death,” Walensky added. “Those deaths were preventable with a simple, safe shot.”
A simple, safe shot, huh? She conventionally left out the many people who have died from and had adverse reactions to the vaccine.
