Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders is slamming the National Rifle Association (NRA) and calling for more gun control after a shooting in Virgina Beach on Friday that claimed the lives of 11 people.
Sanders tweeted out, "Jane and I are grieving for the victims in Virginia Beach and their families. The days of the NRA controlling Congress and writing our gun laws must end." He added, "Congress must listen to the American people and pass gun safety legislation. This sickening gun violence must stop."
I agree, violence should end. However, banning guns like Sanders would like will not end the violence. It would only ensure that bad people have guns, and the good people don't.

I find it interested that Sanders is slamming the NRA when clearly, it is not the NRA's fault! It seems to be the only organization in the world who is continuously blamed for crimes in which none of its members commit!
On March 21, 2019 — less than one week after the mosque attack in Christchurch — Breitbart News reported Sanders’ calls for the U.S. to adopt New Zealand-style gun controls. Those controls include a ban on numerous commonly-owned semiautomatic rifles, pump shotguns, “high-capacity” magazines, and certain gun parts.
Sanders tweeted about New Zealand's gun laws, “This is what real action to stop gun violence looks like. We must follow New Zealand’s lead, take on the NRA and ban the sale and distribution of assault weapons in the United States.”

We are the United States of America. Owning firearms and being able to protect ourselves from the government and others is our constitutional right! We do not want to be like other countries! We are the greatest country in the world for a reason!
