Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Twitter CEO Elon Musk had another back-and-forth exchange on Twitter. This exchange came in response to Musk suspending several liberal journalists from his social media platform Thursday.
In a couple of tweets, AOC called out Musk for "an abuse of power" and told him to "lay off the proto-fascism." These tweets came hours after Musk suspended journalists from CNN, the New York Times, the Washington Post and others.
Musk said the suspension was due to the journalists breaking Twitter's new policy not to share real-time location information when they shared "assassination coordinates."
"Take a beat and lay off the proto-fascism. Maybe try putting down your phone," she commented while sharing one of Musk's tweets.
"They posted my exact real-time location, basically assassination coordinates, in (obvious) direct violation of Twitter terms of service," Musk tweeted Thursday.
"Accounts engaged in doxxing receive a temporary 7 day suspension," he continued.
He followed up, "Criticizing me all day long is totally fine, but doxxing my real-time location and endangering my family is not."

Ocasio-Cortez claims Musk should not have been suspended as he is a public figure and who, like her, is prone to the public being aware of his location and personal information.
"You’re a public figure. An extremely controversial and powerful one. I get feeling unsafe, but descending into abuse of power + erratically banning journalists only increases the intensity around you," Ocasio-Cortez wrote.
She added: "As someone who has been subject to real + dangerous plots, I do get it. I didn’t have security and have experienced many scary incidents."
"In fact, many of the right-wing outlets you now elevate published photos of my home, car, etc. At a certain point you gotta disconnect," AOC suggested.
