North Korea has talked about testing nuclear weapons this weekends. The US is ready to retaliate with 2 Navy Destroyers ready to fire tomahawk missiles if North Korea follows through with their tests.
There are several reports out there that the U.S. is ready to strike. Here is one per NBC News:
The U.S. is prepared to launch a preemptive strike with conventional weapons against North Korea should officials become convinced that North Korea is about to follow through with a nuclear weapons test, multiple senior U.S. intelligence officials told NBC News.
White House Spokesman Steve Herman has said that the United States is prepared to retaliate with a preventive strike if North Korea does, in fact, test their nuclear weapons.
My sources say a pre-emptive strike is NOT planned, contrary to what @NBCNews reporting, but retaliation likely if missile/nuke device test. https://t.co/ec4BaMC2Sa

I wonder if @NBCNews in its reporting is confusing “pre-emptive” and “preventive” strikes. https://t.co/3G9wV8MBVj #Korea
