Former NFL Pro Bowler Taylor Lewan is still reeling after his botched first pitch — and President Donald Trump didn’t let him forget it.
Lewan, co-host of the Bussin’ with the Boys podcast alongside Will Compton, shared the embarrassing interaction on the latest episode. According to Lewan, Trump roasted him to his face at UFC 316 in Newark, New Jersey, over the weekend.
Lewan had thrown out the first pitch at a St. Louis Cardinals game the week prior — and it was a disaster. The ball flew wildly toward the first base on-deck circle, far from home plate. No one was hurt, but fans online compared the throw to 50 Cent’s infamous pitch years earlier.

Lewan said he knew it was going to be bad the moment it left his hand. And Trump didn’t hold back when the two crossed paths.
“I got, ‘Oh, Mr. President, remember the podcast?’" Lewan recounted. “He goes, ‘Remember that throw?’ And kept going. D.J.T. looked at me, scoffed. He goes, ‘You call yourself an American? I thought you were a big, strong man? Looks like you’re a little boy. Looks like you’re a little boy who can’t throw a ball.’”
Lewan continued, “And then he went like this. Figuratively, my chest right here, ‘You’re not good enough.’ And he walked away. Yeah, that’s what my life is now, boys.”
On the podcast, Lewan laughed through the pain. “So, while you guys lay your heads on your pillows at night. Remember, at least you’re not me, OK, because I’m in hell and there’s only one thing I can do – pick up a ball and start throwing.”
After the pitch, Lewan threw his hat to the ground in frustration and dropped to the grass to punish himself with pushups. The moment quickly went viral.
He addressed the debacle on X afterward: “This is the worst day of my athletic career and that includes the Chandler Jones game. I need redemption.”
"Not gonna dwell on comments about ‘keeping my chin up’ coming from someone without one. No excuses. We have to be better, and there will be redemption," he added.
Lewan made the Pro Bowl from 2016 to 2018 during his time with the Tennessee Titans. But now, the moment that haunts him most happened on a baseball diamond.
