About one-third of American households have gas stoves, which emit carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and other pollutants deemed harmful by the World Health Organization and the Environmental Protection Agency.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission's Commissioner, Richard Trumka Jr., stated to Bloomberg that the commission may propose a ban on gas stoves as soon as this year and that it will be given priority.
