On Friday, Senator Pat Toomey declared that former President Donald Trump should not be the Republican nominee for the 2024 presidential election.
Bold words for a man on his way out the door. It's almost like he is giving one last ditch effort to be relevant.
Toomey told CNBC, "I think that the future of our party is to be a party of ideas, and not to be a party about any one individual, and I think we will learn a lot from the next set of primaries. I think after what happened post-2020 election, I think the president’s behavior was completely unacceptable, so I don’t think he should be the nominee to lead the party in 2024.
He also noted that he did not like the way Trump reshaped the Republican Party into more of a workers party, rather than holding the "traditional" Republican views.
Toomey said, "It is President Trump who departed from Republican orthodoxy and conservative orthodoxy in a variety of ways. I stuck to the conservative views that I’ve had for a long time, he had a different point of view on matters such as trade and sometimes immigration and other things."
He also criticized Trump for his Afghan policies, stating, "My view is we had gotten to a point, and we could have sustained a very modest presence on the ground, extremely low rate of casualties, and we hadn’t had a death in Afghanistan in well over a year, a modest cost monetarily. For that price, we would have supported the Afghans who were actually the tip of the spear, the ones fighting, and could have prevented the re-emergence of terrorists from a Taliban-controlled state."
I'd be willing to bet money that if Trump decides to run in 2024, he will win by a landslide.

Great men are almost exclusively bad men, even where they exercise influence and not authority,” Cruz said, pulling from a series of letters to Bishop Craig from Lord Acton. He added that “those words were true in 1887, and they’re true today.”

He reads it, and then promptly wipes his chin. However, he then holds the note where the camera can see it at different points. Once, it even faces the camera directly.

Rep. Steve Scalise: Democrats are 'Throwing Science Out the Window'
On Friday, Rep. Steve Scalise declared that Democrats are ''throwing science out the window'' in regards to COVID and mask mandates.
''If you look at this, you know that the science is being thrown out the window a lot of times because a lot of these Democrats wanted the (COVID-related) shutdowns last year, they wanted to keep kids out of schools, and you see some of them trying to lay the groundwork for that to happen again. That can't happen again," he told Newsmax. ''The science says...
