Pat Sajak Isn't Ready to Say Goodbye to 'Wheel of Fortune' Just Yet

Pat Sajak is back for one last hurrah! The beloved Wheel of Fortune host returns to the familiar stage for a final spin.

Sajak ended his iconic four-decade run on June 7. Now, at 77, he's stepping out of retirement. He'll host the upcoming season of the show's celebrity edition this fall. TVLine confirmed the news, and ABC announced it on July 10.

In Sajak's farewell episode, he expressed gratitude to viewers. "I have a few thanks and acknowledgements before I go," he said. "I want to start with all of you watching out there. It's been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes night after night, year after year, decade after decade."

Reflecting on his 40-season tenure, Sajak noted the show's impact beyond entertainment. "It's been a place where kids learned their letters, where people from other countries honed their English skills," he said. "Families came together along with friends and neighbors and entire generations. What an honor to have played even a small part in all of that. Thank you for allowing me into your lives."

Ryan Seacrest will take over Sajak's role. The TV personality is excited about his new gig as host. One of Seacrest's Instagram posts recently created a buzz among fans. He teased his upcoming role, sparking excitement.

On February 18, Seacrest shared a video and image of his favorite foods, including tinned fish and hummus. An enthusiastic fan asked, "Ryan, it all looks delicious except...whatever fish! To each their own. Ryan could you PLEASE answer (I know you usually do not but please) this, do you miss working at Live or excited about your new job? Sure miss you in the mornings." Seacrest replied, "I'm very excited." This short response thrilled TV viewers.

The new episodes of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune with Sajak hosting are yet to be filmed. They are set to premiere on Monday, Oct. 7, at 8/7c.
