Nikki Haley Announces Who She's Backing for 2024 in Major Newspaper Op-Ed

Nikki Haley, a Republican and former candidate against Trump, wrote a supportive op-ed about him on Sunday. This came just two days before Election Day.

The piece, titled "Trump Isn’t Perfect, but He’s the Better Choice," appeared in the Wall Street Journal. Haley argued that the "millions" of Americans who have mixed feelings about Trump should vote for him.

"I don’t agree with Mr. Trump 100% of the time," Haley admitted. "But I do agree with him most of the time, and I disagree with Ms. Harris nearly all the time. That makes this an easy call."

Haley was the U.S. ambassador to the UN during Trump's presidency from 2017 to 2018. She has a history of both praising and criticizing Trump. In her op-ed, she claimed the "Biden-Harris agenda" has made the world "far more dangerous."

Haley highlighted the southern border as a pressing security threat. "Mr. Biden and Ms. Harris have made it dramatically worse," she wrote. She pointed to the debacle in Afghanistan as a sign of weakness that fueled Russia’s war against Ukraine.

She added that Iran's strengthening under Biden has emboldened the regime to pursue conflict with Israel. "Their appeasement of Iran has enriched that despotic regime," she said.

Haley predicted a second Trump presidency would bring tax cuts and better global standing. "Will Mr. Trump do some things I don’t like in a second term? I’m sure he will," she wrote. "But that isn’t the question in any election."

She emphasized that voters must weigh Trump's policies against his opponents'. "On taxes, spending, inflation, immigration, energy, and national security, the candidates are miles apart. And Mr. Trump is clearly the better choice."

This op-ed follows comments from Mark Cuban on "The View," criticizing Trump for lacking "strong women" around him, referencing Haley. Cuban suggested that Trump can't handle strong women, saying, "He doesn't like to be challenged by them."

On Fox News Channel's "Special Report," Haley reiterated her support for Trump. "You don’t have to agree with Trump 100% of the time to vote for him," she stated. For her family, the choice is clear: "It’s either Donald Trump or it’s Kamala Harris." She added that her daughter struggles to afford groceries in the current economy.
