A Maryland resident secured a substantial win from a lottery drawing by repeatedly betting on the same numbers.
"He plated the same numbers on 15 different tickets for the same drawing and won a $50,000 top-prize 15 times," disclosed the Maryland Lottery in a press release about the victory from the Accokeek individual.
The accumulated prize amounted to $750,000, the statement added.

Over time, this 65-year-old has clinched multiple prizes in the state lottery, with the majority of his winnings from the Pick 4.
On the 13th of August, the Prince George's County dweller bought Pick 5 tickets from Brother Liquors, located at 12788-B Old Fort Road in Fort Washington, Maryland, the announcement detailed.
By the following day, he realized he was due a whopping $750,000.
"That’s when he told his wife that her days of working were over," mentioned the lottery representatives in their release.
"He has also been planning for his retirement after 20 years as a federal employee," the news added.
According to the winner's remarks to the Maryland Lottery, both he and his wife seem to have their financial concerns sorted for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, Brother Liquor, the shop that sold the winning tickets, is set for a celebration too, as they are to receive a $500 bonus for each winning ticket, amounting to a total of $7,500 from the lottery.
In 2023, the combined efforts of the Maryland Lottery and the Gaming Control Agency led to an impressive revenue of more than $1.589 billion "in contributions to the state during Fiscal Year 2023 from Lottery ticket sales, the state’s six casinos, sports wagering and daily fantasy sports," as recorded on the Maryland Lottery and Gaming website.
Since its inception in 1973, the Maryland Lottery has "contributed more than $18.6 billion in revenue to the State." Moreover, lucky winners have walked away with over $31.5 billion in prizes, as per the data on the Maryland Lottery's website.
