Marco Rubio Announces 2028 Decision: Supporting JD Vance

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has signaled early Republican unity by announcing he will not challenge Vice President JD Vance for the presidency in 2028. Rubio stated that if Vance enters the primary, he would be among the first to support the Vice President’s nomination.

The comments, made during an interview with author Chris Whipple for Vanity Fair, highlight the positioning of two key figures in the "America First" movement. Rubio and Vance are widely considered the leading candidates to succeed President Trump when his second term concludes.

President Trump has previously praised both men, even suggesting they would be "unstoppable" if they ran together on a future ticket. While the President has joked about serving beyond the constitutional two-term limit, Chief of Staff Susie Wiles clarified that he has no intention of violating the 22nd Amendment.

The Vanity Fair profile also touched on Vance’s political evolution, which Wiles described as "sort of political" in nature. However, following the article's release, Wiles issued a stinging rebuke of the piece on social media, labeling it a "disingenuously framed hit piece" that disregarded significant context.

Wiles accused the author of attempting to create a "chaotic and negative narrative" about the President’s team. Despite her frustration with the media portrayal, she emphasized that the administration remains focused on its mission to make America great again.
