When it comes to the White House's Coronavirus Task Force that was assembled at the beginning of the pandemic, there were some hit and miss instances, as well as some hit and miss individuals...like Dr. Anthony Fauci.
The other primary medical "expert" of the task force is Dr. Deborah Birx. Overall, she has been good at what she has done.
Now people are criticizing her for hypocrisy.
Apparently, Dr. Birx gave out some recommended guidelines for travel over the past Thanksgiving holiday, but then violated her own advice.
Now everyone is lashing out at her and calling her a hypocrite for doing so.
The way it was reported was that she traveled to Fenwick Island in Delaware to her vacation property with three generations of family members.
When you think of three generations, you instantly think of a massive gathering, don't you? I did when I first saw it. But in reality, three generations could just be her, her parents, and her children. And it seems like that's exactly what it was.
Dr. Birx later issued a statement about her trip to silence the haters:
"Like many Americans, I am the sole caregiver for my parents. They live with me in my immediate household in Potomac, where my daughter and her family reside as well. We are all supporting and providing for each other during this difficult time.
We did not hold the usual Thanksgiving we have every year which includes 30-40 members of my extended family. In fact, I did not hold a Thanksgiving celebration whatsoever this year. My trip to Delaware after the Thanksgiving holiday solely focused on preparing the property for a potential sale. Members of my immediate household assisted in that as well.
As some members of my immediate family could be at risk for COVID-19, I am extremely vigilant in taking all precautions to protect them. I self-isolate, I wear a mask, and I get tested when I interact with them. My family and I follow and practice CDC guidelines, and I encourage all Americans, especially those in situations similar to mine, to do the same."
