Vice President Harris called former President Trump on Tuesday. She wanted to express her relief after he survived another assassination attempt.

A White House official confirmed the call. Harris directly told Trump she was grateful he was safe. The conversation was described as brief and cordial.

Later, Harris spoke about it at the National Association of Black Journalists event. She explained she checked on Trump’s well-being.

She told the audience there's no room for political violence in America. Harris emphasized her focus on protecting democracy.
