Podcast host Joe Rogan revealed on Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris’s team discussed a possible interview but wanted to steer clear of "marijuana legalization" as a topic.
“They had multiple talks with my people, different dates, times, always shifting,” Rogan said. “I knew she’d be in Texas, so I said, ‘open invitation.’ But it seems she didn’t want to talk about marijuana legalization, which I found hilarious.”
The Harris campaign was in talks with Rogan about an interview, though it never happened. Rogan shared that Harris wanted him to come to Washington, D.C., for a one-hour conversation.
Rogan's guest, Adrienne Iapalucci, questioned why Harris might avoid the subject.
“Because of her prosecuting record,” Rogan replied. “She put a lot of people in jail for weed.”
On another episode, Rogan noted that the campaign had set conditions on the interview.
“There were a few things they didn’t want to talk about, but I was like, ‘I don’t give a f---, get her in here.’ I was open to whatever,” he said.
Rogan remained hopeful about interviewing Harris, especially during her Texas visit.
Previously, Rogan sat down with President-elect Trump for a three-hour talk, racking up over 36 million YouTube views.
Rogan ultimately endorsed Trump, and on Tuesday, he called Harris a “bad candidate.”
He suggested the campaign seemed “chaotic” and said Harris struggled in unscripted settings.
“She’s good with a teleprompter, reads speeches solidly,” Rogan noted, “but off the cuff, it’s different.”
