Many may not have had to experience something like this but pensions and retirement benefits usually change after the primary recipient of those benefits dies.
I think it is completely unfair because that individual worked to take care of their spouse and they should be entitled to the full amount after their spouse is deceased. Once Utah couple decided they weren't going to let that happen.
Jeanne Sourone-Mathers and Paul Edward Mathers devised an ingenious way to maintain his full benefits prior to Paul passing away. Jeanne kept Paul's death a secret for 10 years in order to continue collecting his full benefits.
How did she do it? She put his body in a freezer and there he remained until recently.
The only reason that this was finally discovered is because police were called to perform a wellness check on Mrs. Mather. When they arrived they discovered that she too had passed away. After inspecting the home, they too found Paul in the freezer.
According to Yahoo,
A Utah man's body was discovered in a freezer inside his wife’s home 10 years after his death with a notarized letter claiming that his wife didn't kill him.
During a welfare check in November, authorities found Jeanne Sourone-Mathers, 75, dead in her apartment in Toole, Utah. After a further search, they also discovered the body of her husband, Paul Edward Mathers, in a freezer, FOX13 reported.
Mathers, who is believed to have been dead since 2009, was also found with a letter he allegedly wrote that stated his wife did not kill him.
"It was notarized on Dec. 2, 2008," Tooele Police Sgt. Jeremy Hansen told FOX13. "We believe he had a terminal illness."
“Authorities confirmed to KSL that she continued to receive his Veterans Affairs checks after he died. Tooele Police believe she received at least $177,000 in government payouts.
“I think he died and she kept him so she didn’t have to turn in his social security,” James Kite, another resident at the retirement community, said. “It’s been crazy. I’ve never seen anything like what’s been going on here.”
Evan Kline, who lives in the retirement community, described Jeanne Mathers as a sweet elderly woman who could not “hurt a fly.” He said his family knew she was going to die because she had recently quit receiving dialysis treatments.
“Jeanne was, by all appearances, a very nice person. Very friendly. We’ve talked to her quite a bit and took her to doctor appointments. The story that — at least she was putting out — was her husband walked out on her. Based on what I know now, I’d have to say it was probably the plan, yeah, for her to keep the money because it was her only source of income. I guess you could call it kind of smart — then again, crooks a lot of the time are smart.”
While the investigation is still ongoing, the don't expect any foul play though they haven't entirely ruled out homicide.
School Calls Cops on 6-Year-Old Girl with Down Syndrome After Feeling "Threatened"
The government ruins everything it gets its dirty hands on and the public school system is no different.
A school district in Pennsylvania had the police called on a 6-year-old girl with Down Syndrome following an incident where she pointed a finger at the teacher and said, "I'll shoot you." Continue reading…
Elizabeth Warren Calls for Round 2 of Impeachments, This Time It's Different
We've finally ended the witch hunt against Donald Trump as far as the impeachment trial in the Senate goes, but there are still some members of Congress who are ready to get things started up again right away.
It was clear from Day 1 that we all knew how the impeachment charade was going to end. We knew that the Senate would easily acquit President Trump because the Democrats did such a poor job at making up their "evidence" against the President. Continue reading...
Female Lawmaker Introduces Bill to Force Vasectomies at Age 50 or After Third Child
For the last few years, all I have seen I seen is "#MeToo" and "my body, my choice." Women have marched and preached that men should not be able to make laws regarding women's bodies because they do not have a uterus.
For one, that is grossly wrong. A person does not have to have a uterus to know that abortion is murder and murder is wrong. For women to march for the "right" to murder their unborn children is beyond me. Continue reading…
New Bill Would Ban Male Students from Competing in Women's Sports
A new Tennessee bill would require that students playing sports would have to play with the team that matches the gender identification that they were assigned at birth. Of course the bill is being called "demeaning" by activists.
I think it's only fair that athletes compete against other athletes of the same biological sex! Males play males and females play females. Continue reading...
