A golden retriever in Colorado was found after missing for three months. The golden went missing after it fled from a car accident.
The golden retriever, named Farah, was found while sheriff's deputies were doing drone training near Colorado Springs. They found her using the camera's infrared camera. In a Facebook post detailing the rescue, it was noted that Farah was "reunited with her family."
The drone was deployed in the area where Farah was last seen.
"Within minutes, Deputies spotted her using the drone's infrared camera," the sheriff's office wrote in the Facebook post. "A short time later, Farah was reunited with her family. She is safely on her way home, and the UAS team was able to practice some very valuable search and rescue techniques with our drone!"
Farah's owner, Taylor Salazar, referred to her as "the classic goldie." She said, "We needed something to brighten up our household. And she did just that," Salazar said. "He was in love with her the minute he saw her."
Farah was scared of strangers, making it difficult for her to be captured. But the sheriff's deputies used some chicken, along with the help of Taylor, to help lure in Farah.
"She stuck her head through the barbed wire fence, and then the next minute she's laying in my lap and I was like, 'I got her!'"
