Gisele Fetterman, wife of Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman, says she would not support her husband running for president.
In a clip from her interview with Meghan McCain on Citizen McCain, Gisele was asked if John had presidential ambitions. “That’s a question for him,” she said, “but I certainly wouldn’t be supportive of that.”
McCain also pressed her on rumors that she might run for office herself — speculation that surfaced after John suffered a stroke during his 2022 Senate campaign. Gisele shut it down completely.
“I would never run for office,” she said. “You couldn’t pay me to run for office. That was the running news for months — and it was so strange.”
She added that she was baffled by how the media portrayed her. “I feel for really famous people… I don’t believe anything I read anymore because it’s probably not true either.”
McCain echoed the sentiment, saying she also has no interest in politics despite her famous last name. The full interview airs Wednesday on 2WAY.
John Fetterman won a hotly contested Senate race in 2022, but has clashed with Democrats over issues like illegal immigration and his strong support for Israel.
Earlier this year, New York Magazine reported alleged tensions between the couple over his pro-Israel stance and her concerns about his health. Fetterman, who was hospitalized for depression in 2023, dismissed the report as a “hit piece.”
