Finally, we're starting to see a little bit of passive aggression from Elizabeth Warren against Joe Biden.
Recently, Joe Biden said that he would not comply with a subpoena to testify if he were given one, then he backed off of that and claimed that's not what he said.
Warren decided to basically put him in a spot where he can't back out and must comply otherwise face the wrath of Warren. She said that she expects that he should and would comply with a subpoena to testify before Congress if it issued and if he were to not comply then he would be going against what he has said and done in the past.
Sen.Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) said Saturday that former Vice President Joe Biden should comply with any lawfully issued Senate subpoena after Biden suggested he would not do so. However, she also said the focus should remain on the officials the White House has ordered to defy subpoenas.
On the campaign trail in Iowa, the Massachusetts senator commented on Biden’s involvement as a witness in the impending impeachment trial to a gaggle of press. A reporter for CBS, Zak Hudak, shared footage of the lawmaker on Twitter.
Warren told reporters, “Donald Trump is being impeached for abuse of power, and that’s where our focus should be. Shame on him for trying to switch this over to something else. But Joe Biden has said that he has always abided by every lawful order, and if there’s a lawful order on a subpoena, then I assume he would follow it.
“Right now, we should be focusing on the subpoenas that have already been issued for [former White House counsel] Don McGahn and for [acting White House chief of staff] Mick Mulvaney, who have firsthand knowledge of what the president did.
“That’s where the testimony should come from in this impeachment trial, but that’s the part that [Senate Majority Leader] Mitch McConnell and the president just don’t want to put out there in public, and that’s wrong.”
Who knows if Biden would comply or not with any subpoenas because at this point he has said that he wouldn't and he's said that he would.
