The Philadelphia Eagles showed support for the Americans detained in Gaza by Hamas during their Sunday game against the Dolphins.
Many Americans tragically lost their lives in a recent attack in Israel by Hamas. Currently, 10 US citizens are in the group's custody, with their condition largely uncertain. This situation is deeply distressing.
Though some in America have shown support for Hamas after the incident in Israel, the Eagles clearly demonstrated where they stand: in solidarity with the detained Americans and in opposition to Hamas.
The Eagles reserved 10 seats, each marked with an American flag, in tribute to the remaining American detainees.
Today at Lincoln Financial Field, we’re flying 10 American flags in 10 empty seats to honor the Americans currently being held hostage.

The Eagles' move to reserve seats as a tribute is a profound and thoughtful gesture. The aftermath of the attack in Israel has left many grieving and seeking justice against those responsible.
Tragically, innocent individuals, including children, lost their lives, and many were taken captive. It's imperative to remember and advocate for every American detained by Hamas until they are safely returned.
It's troubling to witness certain groups and individuals showing support for Hamas, even when the group has been involved in violent actions against innocent Israelis and Americans. Instances include Harvard student organizations pointing fingers at Israel, Wisconsin students rallying in support of Hamas, and Democrat Rashida Tlaib choosing not to address certain heinous acts while making unfounded claims about Israel's actions.
It's deeply unsettling to see such narratives. Conversely, actions like the one taken by the NFL team to honor the detained Americans serve as a beacon of solidarity and compassion in these challenging times. Such gestures, even if seemingly small, have a profound impact, especially for the families awaiting their loved ones' return.
