In a Sunday conversation with ex-White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki, Representative Pramila Jayapal of Washington State from the Democratic Party expressed concerns about President Joe Biden's prospects in the 2024 election.

Representative Jayapal highlighted the dissatisfaction among young Muslim and Arab American constituents who feel that their perspectives are overshadowed due to President Biden's backing of Israel amid the enduring conflict in the Middle East. She noted that many youthful, progressive activists have been vocal in their support for Palestine, criticizing Israel's role in the persistent strife and, in some instances, employing inflammatory language and slogans that have been condemned as antisemitic.

“I think it is important to recognize that we have a very divided country, as you well know. You have said that polls really don’t reflect where people are, I agree with you,” Jayapal told Psaki. “But I will tell you this is the first time, Jen, that I have felt like the 2024 election is in great trouble for the president and for our Democratic control, which is essential to moving forward, because these young people — Muslim Americans, Arab Americans, but also young people — see this conflict as a moral conflict and a moral crisis. And they are not going to be brought back to the table easily if we do not address this.”

On Saturday evening, a substantial crowd of pro-Palestinian demonstrators, numbering in the tens of thousands, converged outside the White House. They forcibly shook the gate while brandishing Palestinian flags and chanting "Allahu Akbar." Fox News reported that the assembly led to the arrest of an individual as some participants defaced multiple public buildings with antisemitic slogans.

Following the severe attack by Hamas on October 7, which is designated as a terrorist organization by the United States and controls Gaza, the Biden administration has reiterated its support for Israel and its right to self-defense. The onslaught resulted in at least 1,400 fatalities in Israel, with the death toll including over 30 Americans, and also led to heinous acts including murder, rape, and the abduction of civilians.

Some younger Democrats have voiced their intention to reconsider their support for President Biden in the forthcoming 2024 presidential election due to his stance on Israel.

"Biden has really let me down," expressed Angela Balya, a 28-year-old who participated in a Manhattan rally in support of Palestine, during an interview with The New York Times. "I definitely will not be voting for him again."

Demonstrators advocating for Palestinian causes assembled outside the personal residence of Vice President Kamala Harris in California and affixed themselves with chains to the office building in San Francisco associated with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, as a form of protest against the support for Israel.
