During a recent broadcast on NewsNation's "Cuomo," a spirited debate unfolded between host Chris Cuomo and Vivek Ramaswamy, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination. The discussion, sparked by Ramaswamy's comments on mainstream media, led Cuomo to describe his claims as a "web of conspiracy theories."
Ramaswamy was queried about his persistent critiques of fellow candidate Nikki Haley, and whether he thought this approach would benefit his campaign. He retorted, questioning the integrity of the mainstream media and accusing them of favoring certain candidates. Ramaswamy emphasized his commitment to not play into media biases and highlighted his desire to lead the nation without engaging in costly foreign conflicts.
The conversation intensified when Haley's actions throughout the campaign, including her use of social media and verbal confrontations with Ramaswamy, were brought up. Cuomo challenged Ramaswamy's approach to unifying people given his propensity for conspiracy theories. This led to a series of rapid-fire exchanges between the two.
Cuomo pressed Ramaswamy, suggesting he was creating a narrative of media bias against him, particularly regarding Nikki Haley. Ramaswamy defended his position, accusing the media, including Cuomo, of colluding against him, similar to the alleged Trump-Russia collusion narrative.
“I don’t know what you’ve been smoking man, you and the rest of the mainstream media. It’s laughable. Nikki Haley’s been going after me the whole campaign – first debate, second debate, you know, she’s been trailing me for much of the time,” Vivek replied. “But I realized the establishment media has realized that there’s a puppet they want to put up. I’m not playing that game. The grassroots of this country know they want a leader who isn’t going to send our sons and daughters to go die in foreign wars that racked up 7 trillion in debt.”
“How are you going to bring people together when you just put together a tapestry of conspiracies?” Cuomo questioned right before things escalated between the two.
“Hold on a second,” Cuomo fired back. “I let you put it out there and now, you know, I get to finish smoking. And now I get to answer. Which is, ‘oh, this is what the media is doing, is putting up Nikki Haley against me because they know I’m the real deal.’ Please! She hasn’t even been on my show. I’m just watching you get slapped around by her and I’m just wondering what your strategy is.”
NEW: Vivek Ramaswamy humiliates Chris Cuomo on his own show, asks him what he is “smoking” and then calls him out for lying to the American people.
After Cuomo started to accuse Vivek of “going at Nikki Haley,” Vivek gave him a reality check.

The debate saw both parties exchanging pointed remarks, with Cuomo critiquing Ramaswamy's broad accusations and Ramaswamy asserting that a significant portion of the media promotes a biased narrative. According to recent polls, Ramaswamy is trailing with less than six percent support in the Republican presidential primary race.
