Wow! A red wave has been sweeping the nation this week as seats have been flipping from blue to red in elections all over the country. It's an amazing sight to see!
The Associated Press called the New Jersey State Senate District 3 election for Republican truck Driver Edward Durr, who came in and unseated State Senate President Steve Sweeney by 2,298 votes, which is nearly 4%.

In an exclusive interview with Breitbart News on Wednesday, Durr said that he won because of a “perfect storm” in the state that resulted from severe coronavirus restrictions that saw the governor and the Democrats interfere with families’ basic rights:
“The main issue was rights,” Durr said, via phone. “People talk about how New Jersey has the highest taxes, and we’re the worst state for business, with high debt, and so on, but bottom line is rights. It’s family.
“When somebody’s messing with your family, you’ll do anything,” he said. “The governor was messing with people’s families. When you mess with somebody’s job, their livelihood, their home, their children — people just won’t take that.”
Sweeney, who was the longest-serving legislative history of New Jersey, allegedly laughed when Durr challenged him, and even refused to debate him during the debate. He did not see Durr as a threat, therefore he was not worth his time.
I bet Sweeney is feeling real dumb right about now.

To add salt to the wound, Durr only spent $153 on his campaign and did not even have a website outside of Facebook. He simply went door-to-door with volunteers after work to do his campaigning.
