Country music artist Blake Shelton expressed his desire for the upcoming year to either completely abstain from alcohol or significantly reduce his consumption. He acknowledged that this has been an ongoing objective, albeit one with challenges.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the 47-year-old singer discussed his New Year's Eve preferences, particularly how he enjoys celebrating with his wife, also a singer, Gwen Stefani, and her three children from a previous relationship.

“If we’re at home during New Year’s Eve, we’re probably going to bed before it even happens,” Shelton said in the report.

When inquired about a recurring New Year's resolution, the artist known for the hit "God's Country" shared his aspiration to achieve sobriety.

“I haven’t managed to stop drinking yet,” Shelton told ET. “Even cutting back has been hard. I mean, it’s a resolution though.”

“And I’ll say it again right now – that’s my New Year’s resolution,” he added. “To either cut back or stop drinking altogether. Let’s just say I said it.”

The high-profile duo formalized their relationship by marrying in a private ceremony at Shelton's ranch in Oklahoma on July 3, 2021. They first met in 2014 on the reality competition show "The Voice."
