Super Bowl LVIII is coming up on Sunday, bringing snacks into the spotlight. Instacart's "Snacktime Report" provides insights into America's favorite Super Bowl snacks and drinks, drawing on purchase data and a Harris Poll survey.
"Our look into the nation’s shopping carts during the week leading up to the Big Game reveals the true snack MVPs: from tortilla chips being the No. 1 food sold for the Big Game accompanied by lots of rich dips, to the zesty kick of hot wing fixings," Instacart trends expert Laurentia Romaniuk told FOX Business.
Tortilla chips take the top spot, with cola, cheese blend, salsa, and pretzels filling out the top five. The rankings were determined by comparing the week ending Feb. 12, 2023, to the rest of the year.
The report also highlights America's preferred tortilla chip style—58% favor scoop-style chips, according to the Harris Poll. It details the top dip in every state and popular Buffalo sauce pairings, with ranch dressing being a favorite.
Finally, Instacart lists the top 10 alcoholic beverages bought between Feb. 5 and Feb. 12, 2023.
The Super Bowl Sunday matchup is one of the most anticipated events in the sports calendar, bringing together the best teams from the NFL's American Football Conference (AFC) and National Football Conference (NFC) to battle for the coveted championship title.
This high-stakes game not only crowns the season's champion but also brings together fans from across the nation and the world, uniting them in their love for football, spectacular halftime shows, and engaging commercials that have become as much a part of the tradition as the game itself.
