Will Ferrell Shows Up At NHL Game as Iconic Movie Character

Actor Will Ferrell made a memorable appearance at the Los Angeles Kings’ game against the Philadelphia Flyers. He showed up rinkside dressed as a scruffy Buddy the Elf, complete with a cigarette dangling from his mouth.

Ferrell cheered on as his Kings secured a thrilling 5-4 victory. With this win, Los Angeles improved to 21-10-5, cementing their spot as a top team in the Western Conference.

FanDuel Sports reporter Carrlyn Bathe shared a funny tidbit during the broadcast. She said Ferrell mentioned it had been a "tough holiday season" and he was banking on the Kings to lift his spirits.

Thankfully, Kings star Anze Kopitar delivered. He scored twice in the third period, with Adrian Kempe adding a goal and an assist to seal the win.

Kevin Fiala and Warren Foegele also found the net for Los Angeles. Despite trailing 4-2 midway through the second period, the Kings rallied, backed by goalkeeper David Rittich’s 17 saves.

Ferrell is no stranger to Kings games. Over the years, he’s been spotted at Crypto.com Arena, even painting his face black and white during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Fans may remember Ferrell’s role as Buddy the Elf from the beloved holiday film "Elf." The movie celebrated its 21st anniversary in November, having earned $228.9 million at the box office since its 2003 release.

It seems both Ferrell and the Kings know how to keep the holiday spirit alive!
