Former NFL and MLB superstar Deion Sanders, also known as "Prime Time" has high expectations for his college football team not only on the field but in the classroom.
Sanders, the coach of Jackson State, stood before his team and gave a list of expectations in the classroom that must be met. And we're not just talking about the usual stuff of showing up and making good grades. Coach Prime wants his players to excel in the classroom and lead by example.
Sanders told the team they must:
- Wear shoes that cover their feet
- Wear shirts that cover their underarms
- Sit in the front of the class
- Act like "the perfect gentleman"

Coach Deion Sanders Message to his players as Classes Start
* No Slides, No armpits exposed
* No wife beaters
* Sit in front of the Classroom
* Be the Perfect Gentlemanpic.twitter.com/6ZiQhpUiCv— HBCU Premier Sports (@HBCUSports1) August 30, 2022
"Now, make sure you shower before you go to class," Sanders warned. "I don’t want to get a report that you was in some bull-junk in our apparel, representing us. 'Kids in the back of class making noise, he’s free-styling to the whole class while I was trying to teach it' with a Jackson State football shirt on. Not going to happen."
Coach Prime led Jackson State to an 11-1 record last year, including a perfect 8-0 in the conference. Not only is his team succeeding on the field, but learning how to carry themselves as men and be successful after their football careers are over.
