President Donald Trump brought back a familiar Halloween moment Thursday night — balancing a candy bar on a kid’s head.
During the White House Halloween celebration on the South Lawn, Trump playfully placed a full-sized Hershey’s bar on top of a child dressed as DJ Marshmello, echoing his viral 2019 gesture when he did the same to a young trick-or-treater dressed as a Minion. “@POTUS strikes again!” the White House Rapid Response team posted on X.
The president and first lady Melania Trump greeted families, handing out candy to invited guests that included foster and adoptive families, law enforcement, members of the military, and White House staff. Press secretary Karoline Leavitt’s one-year-old son came dressed as a pumpkin, while deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller and his wife went with skeleton-themed costumes.
Guests received full-size Hershey’s chocolate bars and Twizzlers packaged in special Halloween boxes adorned with the Presidential Seal and signed by both the president and first lady.
The South Portico was lined with pumpkins provided by Frey Farms, which has sponsored the White House Halloween event for 13 administrations. After the celebration, the pumpkins will be donated to D.C. Central Kitchen, a nonprofit fighting hunger in the nation’s capital.
“Frey Farms is proud to continue working with the White House to celebrate America’s harvest and the farmers who make it possible,” CEO Sarah Frey said in a statement. “Our pumpkins represent the strength of American agriculture and the importance of healthy, homegrown food. We are honored to support this tradition and to contribute to local food assistance through DC Central Kitchen.”
