President Trump gave a proud shoutout to his granddaughter Kai in a video posted Monday, following their trip to UFC 314.
He praised her golf game, saying, “She's a fantastic golfer... a scratch player, which is amazing.” Trump joked that beating him on the course might still take a while, adding, “I'm not sure when that'll be... it might be a long time.”
The 17-year-old golfer is headed to the University of Miami to play college golf. She committed to the Hurricanes last August and shared her excitement on Instagram.
"I’m beyond excited," she wrote. "I would like to thank my mom, Vanessa, and my dad, Don, for always supporting me through my journey."
Trump has long shown off his own golf skills, often spotted on the course with pro athletes. He even won the senior club championship at Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter recently.
Despite his competitive streak, Trump seemed impressed with Kai’s potential. “Some day in the not-too-distant future she's gonna be much better than scratch,” he said.
Kai’s already racking up wins, with Trump noting, “She wins a lot of matches.” Still, he’s holding onto the edge—at least for now.
Kai attends The Benjamin School in Palm Beach, Florida, alongside another famous golfer’s child—Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie.
With her college future set and praise from her grandfather, Kai’s golf career looks bright. And one day, she just might take that win over grandpa.
