President Donald Trump issued a forceful defense of DHS Secretary Kristi Noem on Friday evening. He utilized Truth Social to praise her performance amidst a wave of nationwide immigration protests. Trump argued that the criticism against her is a "scam" orchestrated by the radical left to distract from his administration's public safety wins.
"The Radical Left Lunatics... are going after Kristi Noem... because she is a woman, and has done a really GREAT JOB!" the President wrote. He claimed that the "Border disaster" he inherited has finally been fixed. He also touted new statistics showing that the U.S. murder rate has reached its lowest level in 125 years.
Recent data supports the President's claims of a historic decline in violent crime. A study by the Council on Criminal Justice found that homicides in 35 major cities dropped by 21% in 2025. This would mark the lowest murder rate in recorded American history, surpassing the previous record low from 2014.
The President also took a moment to praise Border Czar Tom Homan's recent work in Minneapolis. Trump described Homan's oversight of the local immigration crackdown as "FANTASTIC." Homan was sent to the Twin Cities earlier this week to replace Commander Greg Bovino following high-profile fatal shootings.
The administration remains under intense pressure from Democrats and some Republicans over the deaths of Alex Pretti and Renee Good. However, Noem told "Hannity" on Thursday that she is simply following through on the President's promises. She insisted that her department's actions are essential to keeping the American people safe.
Trump concluded his Friday posts by urging Republicans to stand firm against "Crooked Democrats." He alleged that billions of dollars in public funds have been stolen in Minnesota and other states. He claimed the ongoing protests are merely a "camouflage" to hide these alleged criminal acts of theft.
