Former President Trump has added Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard to his transition team. This move is widening his support "across partisan lines."
Trump campaign senior advisor Brian Hughes shared the news. "We are proud to have Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard on the Trump/Vance Transition team," Hughes told Fox News Digital. "Their voices will be crucial as we work to restore America’s greatness," he added.
RFK Jr., who began the 2024 race as a Democrat, shifted to run as an Independent. Last week, he suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump. This endorsement is historic for a member of the Kennedy family.
Gabbard, a veteran and former Democratic representative from Hawaii, also endorsed Trump this week. "I am proud to stand here today, whether you're a Democrat, a Republican, or an Independent," Gabbard said. "If you love our country, as I do, I invite you to join me in electing President Donald J. Trump."
Gabbard, who ran in the 2019 Democratic primary, was recently recruited by Trump. She’s helping with debate prep ahead of his upcoming face-off with Vice President Kamala Harris.
Meanwhile, RFK Jr. took to social media to explain his take on "MAGA." He described it as recalling a vibrant nation, full of hope and a belief in itself.
Kennedy highlighted the country's ability to confront its past and celebrate its successes. He said, "It was a nation of broad prosperity, the world's most vibrant middle class, and an idealistic belief in freedom, justice, and democracy."
"I have talked to many Trump supporters, to his inner circle, and to the man himself," Kennedy wrote. "This is the America they want to restore."
