A Georgia teacher who was formerly named "Teacher of the Year" is under investigation over allegations that he had sex with a 14-year-old former student.
Police arrested Charles B. Jackson on Thursday. The 54-year-old teacher at the Ballard-Hudson Middle School in Macon, Georgia was charged with two counts of statutory rape and one count of aggravated child molestation, according to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.
Jackson is being held without bail in the Bibb County jail. Fox 5 Atlanta reported a magistrate judge ordered him to not have any contact with the alleged victim and the family of the victim.
An investigation into Jackson was opened by the Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff's Office Crimes Against Children subdivision after reports surfaced he was engaging in an "inappropriate relationship" with a 14-year-old former student.
Jackson was named "Teacher of the Year" at Ballard-Hudson Middle School where he was not only a teacher but also a baseball coach.
