In a move that is making leftists everywhere cringe, Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is considering giving out free guns to the public to fight crime and drugs.
Duterte is considering arming 42,000 community leaders, which are known as barangay captains. This move is in response to his meetings with the police and intelligence agency.
Martin Dino, who is the interior department undersecretary responsible for barangays, said that the guns would be provided only to people who are not involved in illegal drugs and they would be provided for free or private purchases subsidized.
“The condition is that the barangay captain should fight drugs and crime. If he is conniving with criminals, he could be the one shot, Dino said, according to the New York Post.
Can you imagine if President Trump decided to hand out free guns to fight the crime and drugs in Chicago? The liberals in this country would go absolutely insane.
Duterte is considering arming bangarays, despite the fact that he has been repeatedly claiming community officials were involved in the drug trade. The bangarays will be treated as soldiers or police and they "will never go to jail" when they shoot suspected criminals as long as they are performing their duty.
Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte promised to fight drug dealers and corruption when he was voted in as president in June 2016.
The Philippines has been mired in drug use and political corruption for decades. Duterte vowed to battle the corruption.
