On Friday, Representative Jim Banks declared that the situation at the border is “out of control” and described it as a “humanitarian crisis.”
Banks told Newsmax TV about his visit to the border detention facility, noting that it was completely different than his visit last summer which was “pretty calm.”
He told host Sean Spicer that he met with several officials including sheriffs, judges, and local elected officials in Del Rio, Texas to discuss the rate of immigrants crossing illegally. They all told him that the numbers were much lower in 2020.
"This is a humanitarian crisis, in a situation that is worse than anything that they've ever seen before," Banks said. "Last year in 2020 there was a flat line in the number of migrants who were crossing illegally. And we now have over five times as many families who are crossing illegally just in that section of the border alone."
"This is a humanitarian crisis that is of Joe Biden's making," he continued. "And unfortunately, at this point, the president and the vice president refused to call it what it is, which is a crisis.
"Secondly, they refused to do anything about it. And that's why we at the Republican Study Committee are calling on the president, the vice president and Speaker [Nancy] Pelosi to get down to the border and listen to those who are on the ground. And hopefully that will change their mind,” Banks added.

I read those books when I was in middle school, and I truly do not remember anything in them that could even be close to racist. Then again, everything today is racist. Just the character wearing white underwear is probably “racist” to the left.
