The White House has a new “Presidential Walk of Fame” — and one detail is already sparking chatter.
Unveiled Wednesday just outside the Oval Office, the display features portraits of every U.S. president in gold frames. But when it came to Joe Biden, the frame held something different: a photo of an autopen machine signing his name.
The autopen, long used by presidents of both parties to sign documents, became a flashpoint during Biden’s presidency. Trump and his allies argued it symbolized questions over Biden’s decision-making and mental fitness, pointing to its use for pardons and other executive actions.
Biden and his aides have pushed back, saying he was fully in charge and that the autopen was just a tool of convenience. A spokesperson for Biden did not immediately comment on the new display.
Trump had hinted at the move earlier this month in an interview with The Daily Caller, teasing the idea of replacing Biden’s portrait with an autopen image.
The Walk of Fame is part of a broader Trump-led makeover of the White House. In recent months, he has ordered the Rose Garden grass replaced with stone and approved construction of a new ballroom near the East Wing.
For Trump, the display is both symbolic and personal — a reshaping of presidential history that highlights his view of Biden’s time in office.
